The energy sector is facing fundamental change. For operators of biogas plants, this means that tried-and-tested business models such as generating electricity and heat from biogas are becoming less attractive – subsidies are coming to an end and markets are changing. This makes it all the more important to develop new perspectives. <\/p>

This is precisely where APESS GmbH<\/strong> came in and developed a forward-looking concept together with a partner: A new business model that focuses on the sale of biogas – supplemented by an intelligent, sustainable and efficient solution for supplying heat to the fermenters.<\/p>

The challenge<\/strong><\/p>

Previously, the heat for the fermenters was obtained from the waste heat from electricity production – cost-effectively and efficiently. With the switch to biogas sales, this source is no longer available. The customer has clearly defined: No fossil fuels, no district heating – the solution must be based on heat pump technology.<\/em> <\/p>
